After a week working on the problem, I was able to restore the ports the first time. The 4200+ CPU only runs at 2.2GHz (2200MHz). You can't compare an apple to an orange using gigahertz, so you can't make a blanket statement like that anymore.

The graphics are better and I have encountered fewer problems with software incompatibility.I'm glad that Microsoft didn't take a bad product (ME) and just add a few things to it. The final test came when I was ready to install my CD burner, since I have read about the problems especially with that. Download their xp driver (or whatever they recommend using).
