Thanks for the tip. I had 2 extremely tech literate friends involved and we never would have found this particular fix. I found you at the top of the list and tried this instead of drivers and it worked like a charm first attempt. He is available for application assessments and team mentoring engagements.

The driver I got from the Dell Dr&Utils disk seems to copy during the install, but it still hangs in the same place. I don’t see any Toshiba specific drivers being loaded however (I don’t see this as any different from loading the SATA preinstallation drivers). ^Yeah, I know. Much appreciated. This will give you an indication of how old your system is: In the case of the Inspiron 7347 (UEFI) BIOS revision A00 was released on the 04/08/2014 (UK date format) A Google search for “THNSN5512GPU7 Driver" takes me first to this Intel site so you can try loading the Intel driver also to see if it helps: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23929/Intel-SSD-Data-Center-Family-for-NVMe-Drivers ^Got this driver Make sure the driver files are correct and located on the driver installation media.

Dell goes out of their way to be a source of non-information. http:// I went as far as burning a custom XP install disk with the SATA drivers included, but then I was getting BAD_POOL_CALLER errors.
