Moreover, there is no actual My Pictures folder either (that is, there is no C:\Users\chambre\My Pictures). You may have to set the folder to be able to view hidden and system files. I notice everytime I click something on the folder window or in around it except for the scroll bars and the 'sort by' options (name, size, type...etc.), it will freeze. They must've been corrupt like you said.
