It does not seem to matter if the OS is 32bit or 64bit.This can happen with Windows Media Player 11, 12, and probably other versions. The installer said it did not apply to the system. I'm also in charge of IT where I occasionally get to design and build super high end servers. Hi,What can I do if the folder titled DRM isn't listed in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows ? In all cases, wmplayer would launch then terminate immediately (verified through the Processes tab in Task Manager). Deleted the "Windows Media" folder located under %userprofile%\appdata\local\Microsoft then tried starting WMP - wmplayer would launch and terminate immediately. In my case, thanks to your explanation, I found a different solution - disconnect an mp3 player that was hooked up via USB.
When to turn it off?
