Windows Media Center. Not Receiving All My Channels

Reply Cameron Fuller July 25, 2015 For the people on this thread who are having problems with analog signals, wifi only or need to be able to get programming from I cant even get a tv tuner signal in the wmc anymore. I am looking now for a zip code closer to my location. Click Edit Channels. have a peek here

I've tried your workarounds but the good zips mentioned in your file fro Dallas area do not work. I have a test system here that was running Windows 8.1 with the (paid) extra to enable Windows Media Center. We look at each issue report of missing data for specific zip codes and providers to clean up the data feeds. Shioh Harder Had already went through that several times tried different zip codes etc.

I personally believe that Microsoft is getting some sort of kickback from the cable providers to get everyone off of Media Center by a certain date and they are purposely causing I've restarted the PC, cleared recording schedule, run TV signal setup twice, downloaded guide data several times, no behavior change. I hate Microsoft. If your display is not HDCP-compliant, you will not be able to access protected content on the PC.

  • As an example if you live in Houston: UPDATE: I have gathered all of the valid zip code information which I've been able to find online and combined it at: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=42E09579CA8AEAC0%2152294
  • Did something happen recently in terms of MS or local guide listing support for the system?
  • Alas, didn't work out for me.
  • No/few channels found in channel scan Back to top If you are using cable, verify that unencrypted digital channels are present on the line you are using.
  • Is there any way to manually install the Rovi update.

  • Michael Barone July 23, 2015 Thank you very helpful post to a recent WMC annoyance.
  • Simply close and reopen WMC.
  • Turned it back on showed hardware and again installed the driver for that (even tho it is same company and program it will not detect in media center and will throw
  • At least this thread is showing some semblance of logic.

And how to make it go into widescreen mode !?!?! I'm not married to it but is is pretty functional. Thank you. Reply Spencer July 29, 2015 I tried your zipcode and that failed miserbaly.

Still "no data available" Anna Thanks for the info, I am in British Columbia Canada, using a Shaw cable Gateway/tv tuner. TV still got signal, WMC didn't. Try a different network cable and port on your switch/router. Visit Website These steps will need to be repeated on any other PCs you're using WMC in, and in the future if you ever go through the TV setup wizard in Windows Media

HDHomeRun CONNECT would not be usable with these providers - you would need to utilize an antenna in order to receive over the air broadcasts (if available), or instead use HDHomeRun PRIME No need to reinstall Media Center - it even recognized several of my prior series and scheduled them to record. It would've been better to change Xbox One console to Zap2It. Reply packercd July 25, 2015 I live near Orlando,FL.

If not, or if it fails to turn on multiple times, please open a trouble ticket so we can replace it. Seems to have a few more photos ID'ing programs. Any way to "combine" guide data? Reply Dale July 23, 2015 I spent an hour with MS-support-chat, including letting them remotely login to my pc.

Reply Eric July 23, 2015 I am having the same issue. If your system is still resolving to the older guide system (Zap2It) this process will continue to fail regardless of what zip codes you enter. After going thru the procedures of setting up tv tuner and getting the guide to work now and got tv channels I turned the computer off and installed the second tuner. Check This Out The others I had to go to Tasks, settings, TV, Guide, Edit Channels, select a channel that wasn't working ( in my case channels 25, and 69 ), click Edit Sources,

The new TV setup data could not be downloaded. My girlfriend is riding my butt, she is tired of Netflix and HBO GO! One of the primary reasons we've said that it isn't dead is that Microsoft continues to make Electronic Program Guide (EPG) data available to the Media Center guide.

Reply Dan July 23, 2015 Simon - thanks for this very helpful step by step guide.

For example, HDHomeRun Setup may have a channel listed as ch79-5. If you are having this issue as well, please log it to: https://connect.microsoft.com/site1145/Feedback/Details/2452803 3/15/2016 update: I am seeing a thread indicating that this should be fixed either 3/15 or 3/16. Be sure to check your DNS and change as necessary discussed in article. Hopefully someone with more technical know-how than me will figure what and how to fix it.

Reply Cameron Fuller July 24, 2015 Tammy, you may want to couple this with the google dns changes to see if it's a combination of both of these. Nelson says: 9 years ago thanks for the tip Philip. They fixed Los Angeles OTA 7, 9, 11, and 13 in 2 days. http://midsolutions.org/windows-media/windows-media-center-ntdrl-dll.html Tried to use a third party EPG, attempting to use both Big Screen Program Guide and Schedules Direct.

Windows 8.1 should be a viable and supported Operating System for quite a while to come but I am wondering the same question that you have on this. I could only receive analog channels. From discussions on this thread and recommendations from ewtaylo1 (huge thanks!) I was able to put together a workaround which works for my system and from feedback I've received in twitter After hours of attempting to install the 750 it still does not work.

Supported devices: HDHomeRun PRIME (HDHR3-CC) HDHomeRun Extend (HDTC-2US) HDHomeRun Connect (HDHR4-2US) HDHomeRun 4DC (HDH3-4DC) Make sure that your Android device is connected to the same network as your HDHomeRun is wired in to. The zip code method is hit or miss and did not work at all for downtown Dallas or surrounding areas (tried them all). This is simply how the CableCARD asks for itself to be rebooted, which is often necessary for changes made by the cable provider to take effect. If it shows none, contact your cable provider, as the card must be validated in order for copy-protected channels to be received.

With regards to the question of whether my recordings were lost or not: the shows which had already been recorded were still on my drives so they were re-identified. Disregarding the parts after the . That means you've got at least another five years before you need to try to find a replacement for your guide data, or perhaps Windows Media Center entirely. The working zip for Northeast VT is 05404.

If you see a line that says "subscribed", then 5 seconds later a line that says "not-subscribed", this indicates that the card has not been staged correctly by the cable provider. No years for movies so you cannot tell whether it is the original or a remake without looking at the cast. There was someone from Cedar Rapids, I must be getting bug eyed, cause I cant find his post.
