I am transferring about 50GB between some backup files and its taking forever...the speed it goes is only 10MB/Sec. after testing and putting in another switch between her computer and the main network switch and even changing the NIC in her tower, it was clear to be network / TCPIP I have tried both mapped drives and network places and have the same issue. When you lock in the speed and duplex settings on your nic you prevent the nic for autonegotating these values with the switch. The transfer was wireless.
