Please review the following information if you are enrolled in a ITB Course:

ACCEL Laptop Specifications

  • Processor: 2 GHz Intel Pentium 4
  • Memory: 256MB
  • Hard Drive: 30GB
  • CD Drive or CD/DVD or CD-R/DVD
  • Screen: 14.1" XGA TFT Color Display
  • Video: Graphics Controller with 32 MB
  • Floppy Drive: Modular 3.5" Diskette Drive
  • Multimedia: Integrated 16-bit Sound with Integrated Stereo Speakers
  • Modem: Internal 56K Modem or Network Interface Card
  • Keyboard: Full-Size 86-key Keyboard
  • Mouse: Pointing Device
  • Expansion Slots: Two Type II or One Type III PC Card Slots
  • Battery: 2-High-Capacity Lithium Ion Batteries (NOTE1)
  • External ports: VGA, ECP Parallel, Serial, USB, NTSC/PAL Video Out, Power Input

Note 1: Two batteries are required due to the length of classes (4 hours). Classrooms are not supplied with sufficient electrical outlets for all students, nor does College policy permit any type of wiring on the floor constituting a safety hazard.

  • Anti-Virus Software with periodic updates

NOTE 2: Students may be responsible for purchasing additional software products or upgrades to meet technology changes.

  • Wireless Ethernet Card Requirement AIR-PCM352 (wireless PC card w/Integrated Diversity Antenna, 128bitWEP) (Note 3)

Note 3: Students may purchase the wireless card from the Office of Technology Services at cost plus state sales tax (current price is $118.72) or from another source. This is the only type of network card supported by the institution.

Note 4: Students may use a company owned laptop, but it is the student’s responsibility to secure permission from their company. Many corporations view non-corporate use of company property as grounds for dismissal.
