In general, the system requirements of WebCT are the system requirements for the supported Netscape or Internet Explorer browser, and a 56K or better Internet connection. If instructors use streaming media, interactive multimedia, or other content that requires other hardware or browser plugins, they should advise you of the system requirements this content requires and where to download the necessary plugins.

Windows

Your PC should have a Pentium 90 processor or better and at least 32 megabytes of memory and a 56k V.90 modem or better Internet connection. Depending on the media used by individual course sites, you may need a sound card and/or a video card and speakers.

Macintosh

If you are a Macintosh user, in order to use WebCT you should have a Power PC machine with at least 32 megabytes of memory and a 56k V.90 modem or better Internet connection You should have OS 7.5 - OS 9.0 to run Netscape 4.7-4.77, or run Netscape 4.7 under the MacClassic option in Mac OS X. You may run Internet Explorer 5.1 under either OS 7.5 - OS 9.x or OS X.
