Since the NIC and the WNIC have unique IP addresses.. I've tried looking for other similar problems on google but haven't found anything yet. It authenticates and gets an IP from the router, but can't ping the router. Well, it got us somewhere, at least, but not very far.
Beats taking and uploading a photo!The "Excellent signal strength / Connected" means that you are connected to the Access Point by radio. Pinging the loopback address doesn't hit your wireless card at all. My Acer netbook worked great for over a year before it recently was overcome with locking up / freezing issues. I had the same issues with the wifi adapter. I've used the "repair" function when right-clicking the wireless icon and it tells me it can't renew my IP address. Hope this helps some people out there. Hi all, I've got a netbook (Acer Aspire One) with XP SP3 on it.

Also, the when it's connected regularly (not in safe mode), it drops the pings. also, shoudl I unplug the ethernet cable when turning the wireless adapter back on to provide this info? Establish a wireless connection to my router, (which, btw, is confirmed to work because my buddy connects to it with his Powerbook and has normal internet access. No wireless drivers listed?
I changed my router to WEP encryption and reconnected. Click OK. But you're right..
The list isn't THAT long! Is there any way you can produce it in text? How else could I be sure I'm testing the wireless signal?
