Research & Development in Instructional Systems
Objectives
Through discussion, collaborative activities, assigned readings, and individual projects, it is expected that the learners will be able to:
- Critically evaluate research relevant to instructional Technology utilizing given critique structure.
- Knowledgeably discuss research using appropriate terminology and concepts.
- Utilize fundamental terminology of quantitative and qualitative research concepts in their written report.
- Become knowledgeable of the types of research relevant to Instructional Technology and the instructional technology/instructional design role as researchers.
- Distinguish between qualitative and quantitative research.
- Complete a literature review that addresses issues with integrating instructional technology into learning environments.
- Conduct and post findings of an open-ended interview with an IT professional around the issue of IT as a career choice.
- Utilize the APA writing conventions used in educational research in the final research report.
- Complete a hypothetical research design around the issues associated with integrating IT into learning environments in collaboration with other students.
- Discuss and interpret basic descriptive, correlational and inferential statistics used in various research studies.

How your learning will be evaluated
Your grade will be determined by your involvement in the Discussion Room, and by the completion of three assignments.
