Industry Portfolio Project

Introduction

This assignment requires you to gather and organize a comprehensive collection of materials/information relevant to a specific topical area. The final product will consist of a web-ready electronic portfolio and a 2-4 page reflective statement.

For this project you should investigate one of the following settings:

On or before Week 2, email me your top three setting choices. Please list the choices in priority order. Settings will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis.

You are welcome to work on the portfolios individually or in teams of two. More than one person and/or team can research a given topic as long as each setting is addressed during the course.

The Scenarios

Option One

You and a group of your friends have opened an Instructional Design firm. The business consultant hired to review your business plan notes that the firm has little tangible evidence of its skills and services.

To address this issue the team decides to develop industry based portfolios. Since the products will be placed on the company Website as marketing tools, you not only need to provide information about the industry (based on the questions defined on this site), you also need to demonstrate your instructional design skills.

Content Guidelines

Critical to a good portfolio of this type is content. The information contained in the portfolio - its purpose, usefulness, and facts - should demonstrate your range, ability, and understanding of the organizational setting. Each of the settings requires that a unique set of questions be addressed, do not answer the questions in isolation but use them as a guide in developing an overall picture of the field.
